Bite-Sized Horror #6: SMS

I texted my location to the emergency services, as the lunatic stalked the house.

And then a crackling voice down the hallway said: “All units please respond…”

Watching the floating necklace, I adjusted my grip.

—

I dragged my eyes from the bathroom mirror and approached my girlfriend from behind, clutching the wooden stake.

“Babies smell so good,” said my wife, as she took in a deep breath.

—

“It’s almost ready,” I said, stirring the contents of the wok.

“He’s got his mother’s eyes, his father’s nose… and his grandmother’s ears.”

“Why does he keep them all in jars?” asked the second detective.

I didn’t care that people were staring as I walked through the park, holding her hand.

—

I wish I still had the rest of the body, though.

“She’s leaving, thank God!” I said, as I watched the shadow dropping into the depths.

Then my diving instructor whispered, “Great whites attack from below.”
